Whatever You Do Stay Alive
By: Sherry Robinson
When I first started reading this book, I felt sorry
for April Conners. She was being put in a bad position representing an ‘alleged’
criminal on trial for murder of the Mayor’s daughter.
This is her first solo case,
and all she wants to do, is show them all that she can do it, whether or not
the guy is guilty or not.
Aprils job is to prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that
her client is not guilty. The town won’t have it. As far as they are concerned,
the guy is guilty as hell.
April on the other hand, realizes he could be, but she
needs to do her job and nothing else. While everyone else has already convicted
her client, she has to deal with the implications, and abuse from the Judges,
and dirty looks from everyone, and outbreaks from her client. She is about fed
up, and ready to throw in the towel, when finally, she decides to speak with
one of the Judges and asks him to consider recusing himself.
Eventually that Judge does as she asks, and she gets
yet another Judge, who also doesn’t put up with anything in his court room. Once
again, April is thrown to the wolves by yet another Judge.
About ready to give up, April can hardly wait to go
home for her date with her boyfriend later that night. Finally, she will be
able to take her mind off of the case, and maybe even relax, and enjoy herself.
To make a long story short, somehow, her client gets
released, and her plans for a relaxing night, turn into a night from hell. Thus,
the title: “Whatever You Do Stay Alive.”
Eventually, April learns by looking up online, that
the Mayors daughter was not her clients first kill. She in fact, was seeing
even more than she wanted too, when she realized that this idiot had even
killed her boyfriend, and intended on killing her next.
You will read a down right shocking mystery thriller
as you witness first hand from April Connors eyes, her life in danger, and the
wrath of the killer she is dealing with, and how she hopes to overcome him, but
will she?
You will need to read this overwhelming five-star book
and find out. This is an exciting book, that will keep you wanting more as you
sit on the edge of your seat, cringing and waiting, and worrying about April. You
will be pleased, trust me.
