Specter was a successful group, which Erik Renevant was the lead singer for. Erik and his Band had been in an accident, and this destroyed them both. From that point on, Erik chose to live in darkness. He refused to be seen again, he hid in the shadows, and never let anyone see him again.

Everyone longs for a chance at the spotlight, especially Christine Day. Christine dreams of entering the ‘Stage of Stars’ the latest hit reality competition, entering contests, traveling, and doing everything she can to get her chance. 

One day, Christine receives her big break in becoming the backup singer for an unknown band. Christine ends up wandering into Eriks world, and he hears her voice. From that moment on, he recognizes perfection, and knows she is destined for great things. 

Furthermore, Erik never imagined, that Christine and her voice, would cause him to desire to make him end his own façade, and lead him back into the star light. 

There was just something about Christine, her voice, and music. The façade could no longer be kept in the dark…

Façade is said to be inspired by the ‘Phantom of the Opera’ and is a combination of all the different incarnations. 

I give ‘Façade’ five stars, and found it to be quite entertaining, and I truly enjoyed the fact that Christine inspired Erik enough to draw him out of the shadows. People need not live in shame of whom and what they are. I totally loved this story from the get go, and felt like ‘Façade’ was everything I wanted and more. This was an extremely well written book, and it truly will make you think about how people feel about how we look, and how we know everyone around us looks at, and judges us. Kim Carmichael will always pull you in with her writing, she makes you feel like you are right there with her, as she is writing her stories. She tells everything so clearly that you always can visually see and feel everything. A beautiful five star read you will want to read over and over again.

1. What made you write this & how long did it take?
I have always been a huge fan of Phantom of the Opera, in fact I started by writing fan fiction.  It took me two months to write.

5. What is your upmost favorite book you have ever written?
 Right now it is Idolized (Book three of Hollywood Stardust) it has some of my favorite scenes in it.
 
 6. What inspires you to write?
 The world around me, something I see, something I dream.
 
 
 7. Do you ever dream about or through your characters?
 Sometimes not often.

8. Have you ever had writers block & if so- what do you do about it?
Cry to my editor.

9. Have or will you ever written a true story?
No my life is not all that interesting.

When I received this book ages ago, it arrived in a box with several others, and it was autographed. Did you hear what I said? Autographed! What all could a person ask for from one of their favorite writers? Books, signed and right to your door! Yeah!

So here I am sick in bed, and can’t reach my computer because everyone took my electronics from me, and there the book sits. Its looking at me, calling to me. I can’t stop coughing, I can’t sleep, and I need to read. Yeah!

I pick it up, and start reading. Shane Elliot greets me at page one. A tattoo artist, that as I keep reading seems like everything any woman in her wildest dreams would be interested in. I mean, you know. If you like a handsome man, with tattoos, and muscles, and you know—hot. 

What’s even better about Shane, he likes to stand out, and have fun. But the bad part, is that Shane is pretending that underneath it all, his problems don’t exist. You can’t do that when your problems are bill collectors, especially when those bill collectors end up being the IRS. 

One day, much to Shane’s surprise he ends up with a new neighbor. A person in debt usually needs an account to help them figure out how to get out of debt, and fix their problems correct? Well low and behold the beautiful Lindsay Stevens is just that. Shane thinks he just might be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. 

The only thing is, Lindsay has a past, that she wants to leave in the past. So she tries to keep her distance with Shane, and finds it hard to do so, because after all, he is just the kind of guy that her heart is seemingly yearning for.

Will Lindsay’s past come back to haunt her, and will Shane get his debt back on track? These two must learn to accept one another, for who and what they are, can they do this?

“Permanent” is the first book in the ‘Indelibly Marked Series’. It is a book that will take you into the lives of a tattoo artist, and of course his debt, and long with his lifestyle. The book is written quite exquisitely and you will enjoy every minute of it, as you fall in love with the characters, and learn about them, and their lives. This is a wonderful five-star book, that you will want to read again and again.

1. What made you write this book and how long did it take you to write?

This book was several years in the making.  I wrote it because I had an idea for Shane and he kept speaking to me. 

2. Have you ever been to: 'Shane Elliot's Hollywood Permanent Tattoo Shop'? If so, please tell us about. If not, how did you get your research info?  

I interviewed about 10 different tattoo shops.

3. What are you working on now?

I am working on a couple of submission packages keep your fingers crossed.

4. What do you suggest to people trying to become writers and do you think being a writer is a desirable job?

Only become a writer if not writing ruins your life. I think about writing all the time.  Don’t become a writer to make money.

5. What is your favorite thing about writing books?
Creating a world and living in a fantasy and talking to readers.

6. How long have you been writing?
12 years

7. Have you won any awards or recognition for your writing?
Yes in fact Permanent was a finalist in Assent Publications Best new romance contest

8. What all education have you had?

I have a Master’s Degree :-)

9. What are youR favorite things to write about? And why?
Contemporary Los Angeles and Pop Culture because I live it.

10. What are your favorite things to read? And why?

Historical Romance because i don’t live it.

His co-star than, and love of his life was Erin Holland. But that was all in the past. In order for Drew to return to his much craved “Limelight” he must be able to leave the past where it belongs, in the past.

Erin Holland had a constant place in her heart for Drew and always wanted to try and fix it. She always wondered what had happened to him and searched for him. Erin is so in love with Drew she would give up acting to have him. On the same token, would he even want her still?

 

After twenty years, the pain of the past still makes its appearance. But what Drew and Erin truly need to decide is their love worth waiting for? Can they make this work, should they, and will they? Romance, acting, can they work everything together...again? Or should they? Inquiring minds want to know! You will need to read this book “Limelight” to find your answers and more.

“Limelight” is a very well written book that you will want to read from cover to cover. It is a five star book, and said book will pull at your heart strings, and make you fall in love with the characters. This book takes places right after: “Typecast.” And together, both of these books, would make a fabulous Movie, which I think everyone would truly enjoy.

My Questions for Kim:

1. What made you decide to write this series?
I am a kid of the 80’s a fan of all things John Hughes.  I was sort of fascinated about what happened to teen actors 20 years later, where did their lives take them.

2. Who is your favorite character of this series?
Definitely Erin.  I know she is controversial but I learned a lot about writing heroines because of her, and I love that she is strong and not all that good at the beginning.


3. Are there going to be more characters in the future books?
Yes the last book will be Ryder’s story with his girl Cora.


4. How can you pre plan a book or series?
For me it comes organically out of the characters or secondary characters.

5. Is there any Author in particular you'd hope/like to meet in the future?

I would have love to meet VC Andrews but sadly she is no longer with us:(

6. You have a job and you write. Does the writing or the job ever interfere with one another?

I think my day job definitely enhances my writing as it gives me time to think about what Im going to write.

7. If writing could pay the bills and you could stop working, would you do it?

No not at all, I actually love my day job and i think it would give me anxiety which i try to avoid by writing LOL

8. What is your favorite thing about writing?

The escape

9. Where do you usually like to do your writing?
In my bed on my laptop


10. Do my interview questions seem to nosey? (Sorry I had to ask, because you and I have had SO many interviews I have to keep changing up the questions so the readers can keep learning new things about you! LOL)
