Romancing Broadway by Debbie Zello

Romancing Broadway

By Debbie Zello

There are so many unique things about this book that fascinated me. To begin, the cover is beautiful, and just looking at it alone, should mesmerize you enough to want to buy this book, let alone read it.

Another unique thing is within the book. The book itself has dual endings, allowing the reader to chose which ending suits their needs with concluding the way they want the ending to succeed for them.

The character Samantha West is a strong willful woman who has dreams, just like any one of us. But she plans to at least try to make an, and hopefully succeed at making it big.

Sam has a best friend named Gabby and together they live in an Apartment in New York City. Just like Sam, she too has goals.

Eventually a part comes available in an off Broadway Production. With it comes Cesere Bottari who also grasps Sam’s attention. Without even noticing how involved she’s getting with Cesere, Sam doesn’t even realize he’s dominating her life and interfering with everything.

Disaster arises for Gabby and false accusations end up ruining everything for her. Gabby ends up distraught, but her best friend Sam is seemingly always busy now.

This book, “Romancing Broadway” has two endings, two beautiful, strong, entertaining women, humor, romance, relationship problems, romantic good looking men, and even offers up the world for you to visualize all on a silver platter! This book would make for an excellent movie, so exciting, and so picturesque.

Everything about this book thrilled me! I intend to read it again, only slower so that I can enjoy the characters and sights more thoroughly. This book is truly five stars, I promise you, you will want to read it again, and enjoy it more than once, after all, you can, with two endings! Debbie, truly has a gift, I just hope she plans on including me in her reviews, I totally found a new favorite!
Here are my questions for Debbie:

1. What made you write this book AND how long did it take you?
Samantha came to me in a dream. She told me the whole story over a month or so. I would get up around 4AM to write what she had given me the night before. It took 38 days to write.

2. Who designed this beautiful cover?
I found the pictures and my publisher, Bitten Press LLC put them together. I'm so glad that you like it. It's my favorite cover so far.

3. Do you have photos or descriptions of Samantha and/or Gabby?
No photos of either. I describe them as the best friends push each other in front of the mirror in their tiny apartment. Sam is petite with a dancers body. Gabby has more curves in just the right places. Both women are less concerned with their looks than they are with the love they share for each other. They would do anything for each other.
Sam is 5'7" with blond hair and grey eyes. Gabby has brown curly hair and brown eyes. She's 5'2" and she says 4 feet of it is boob and butt.

4. Have you ever been to a real Broadway production? If so- do tell!
Yes, I've been to several. Titanic, Lion King, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast, to name a few.   I live a 90 minute train ride from NYC. It's a fabulous city and I go there often.

5. What made you decide on two endings AND which one is your favorite?
After I finished the book,  Cesere gave me the second ending. I'm not telling which one I like best.

6. How long have you been writing?
I began writing the stories down two years after they started coming to me. It was the summer of 2011. I wrote several stories before I started looking for a publisher. My first book has 4 of the stories, it was published in 2014.  The second 5 stories.

7. What all education have you had?
Nothing to prepare me to be an author. I'm not an English Major and never took a writing course in my life. This proves that you can change the course you have chosen. Do something totally different. Just do it.

8. What can you suggest to anyone trying to become a writer?
Try to write everyday. Even if it's only a few hundred words. Get into the habit of editing as you go. Correct spelling, do the best that you can with punctuation, make proper paragraphs and capitalize appropriately. No editor wants to work on a mess.
Have your friends and family read your story. Not everything you write is marketable but practice does make perfect. Finally, read as much good literature as you can. The classics as well as contemporary authors.

9. Was it always your dream to be a writer?
No it wasn't. This is as much a surprise to me as if I had won the lottery.

11. Anything to add:
My books are about strong women and confident men. I write history that's easy to understand and interesting to read. I hope to give you something to think about with each book.

About the Author:

Debbie has always been an avid reader, but writing was not her interest. That was until an illness gave her the time and inspiration needed to begin her journey in words. After writing down a few chapters of a story that had whispered into her head, she gave it to a few friends to read. The rest became her first book, The Kiss Me Chronicles.
Debbie freely credits her stories to her muses, the characters themselves. They occupy her thoughts and dreams, presenting her with their narratives on their lives and loves. On occasion, she has tried to put her own take on their story, only to be quickly corrected by the true authors.
Debbie has traveled extensively and has a deep love of American history. Her novels are often based on historical events as well as places she has visited. She is also an amateur genealogist, having traced her own family roots.
Debbie currently has eight published books with many more in various stages of production, including a tetralogy of 'what or where is your safe place.' She is also branching out of the romance/historical romance genre to include a teenage appropriate story based on Dorothy's(The Wizard of Oz) great-granddaughter, Dee, and her adventurous shoes.

Pink Pucks & Power Plays (To Love a Wildcat, #1) by V.L. Locey

Pink Pucks & Power Plays

By V.L. Locey

We all know how it is, having a younger sister. Viviana Land is a curvaceous society page reporter that gets talked into helping her nieces Busy Bee Scout leader. This leads the girls to Green Hills Ice Rink....

Viviana is a very self absorbed character with many flaws. However like more people, she needs to find a way to make her career and her love life come together and make her life have meaning.

Alain Lessard one handsome hunk from the Philadelphia Wildcats is donating his summer to coaching the youth league.

Alain is truly a focused hockey player who loves working with people, and his community. His priorities have always been hockey, and… well hockey. Until he met Viviana it was then that his sparks were awakened.

Viviana is handed an opportunity to write the break out story of her career. And she can’t help but flirt and tease some juicy tidbits from Alain, a great hockey defense-men. However, without even noticing Viviana finds herself falling for the younger hunk.

Can and will Viviana put her virtual pen away for a chance at this new chance at the perfect career choice or will she finally get away from those annoying bakery opening articles by using the man she could possibly be in love with? Can she make the right choice here?

Can and will Vivian and Alain make their relationship work? For that matter should they? And will Viviana learn to becoming less self absorbed, and a better person, now that she has a man to focus on. It’s time to read and find out more yourself!

This book is a truly sporty five star read, relating to young teens, and hockey. I enjoyed the relationships with the family, and the fact that these characters truly seemed life like.

Viviana truly had an attitude just like an independent self absorbed woman. Alain’s character is very strong, and truly emotional and helps to make the book more memorable as he brings the romance to life. You will truly enjoy this book, it will enlighten you on hockey, and even careers and relationships. This book “Pink Pucks and Power Plays” was a very inspirational sporty read!

My questions for Ms. Locey:

1. What made you write this book and how long did it take?

I wanted to pen a sports romance series where the leading ladies weren't the typical size 2, blonde, bubbly heroines. I wanted to show the world that a woman with curves and some sass could win the heart of the handsome younger man even if she were not Susie Sunshine. All of my heroines, and heroes when talking about my M/M books, are not Princes or Princesses. They are flawed and it shows. Some are heavy, some are painfully shy, some are in their 40's or 50's, some are handicapped, and one in particular is just an out-and-out jerk. Yes, I'm looking at you, Victor Kalinski.

Pink Pucks probably took about a month for a completed first draft. I spend at least 2-3 hours per day writing, so things go rather quickly most generally.

2. Are you yourself into Hockey?

Oh yes, I am a super rabid New York Rangers fan. I make a yearly pilgrimage to New York City with my best buddy Michele (another huge hockey fan) just to visit Madison Square Garden to see a Rangers game. My family and I also attend as many minor league games as we can since we have an ECHL team close by.

3. Do you have photos or descriptions of Viviana, her sister and/or Alain?

I have a Pinterest board with all sorts of images for Pink Pucks & Power Plays, as well as all my other books. Here's the link:

4. What are your hobbies?

I love to read, do yoga, collect Marvel comics, watch hockey, chill with my chickens, play video games, and enjoy going to the movies with my hubby and daughter.

5. What all education do you have?

I have a high school diploma.

6. What do you suggest to aspiring authors?

There are two things that I like to pass along to folks who are hoping to write that book they've been dreaming of:

1-Do not let anyone tell you that you are too fat, skinny, young, old, handicapped, rich, poor, green, purple, yellow, brown, white, or lime green to follow your dreams.

2-Put your backside in that chair and write. All the talent, amazing characters, and superb plots mean nothing if you do not learn the discipline required to be an author. That means your butt in that chair every day, no matter what. I know, it's harsh advice, but it's one of the most important things that I can pass along aspiring authors.

7. What are you working on now?

At the moment I'm working on a book for my Venom erotic hockey series titled Angle Play. The Venom series spun off the To Love a Wildcat series and is about a women's pro team playing in Philly.

8. Who is/are your favorite Author(s)?

Oh boy, there are so many! Off the top of my head, we'll go with J.R. Ward, Diana Gabaldon, George RR Martin, Rick Riordan, and Armistead Maupin. My reading tastes are all over as you can see.

10. Anything you'd care to add:

I'd like to thank Deneale and all of the readers out there! We authors love every reader and blogger who supports the reading community as well as the world of romance!

                                                        Skate hard and love deeply,

                                                                                   V.L.
