Solera Winters; "Journey to the UnderWorld"

Solera Winters

"Journey to the UnderWorld"

an Olympian Seductions Novel

 The Review:

Within these pages, I found the the Gods and Goddesses I found to believe in as I read my Mythology and Greek stories through Junior High and High School are now brought to a whole new level. One here on Earth, and in the here and now.

Kory Burke, as she prefers to go by, though, not her given name, is the daughter of Demeter, who actually prefers to be called Demi. Demeter and Kory run a Nursery, "Demeter's Nursery", which is her pride and joy.

Kory is taking singing lessons from a Professor Stradham, however her Mother feels that it is a waste of her talents, and feels her talents belong in the Nursery.

Deven Thanos, is after revenge on Demeter, and learns of her daughter, and sends Kory's manager invitation for Kory to try out. Of course, this excites, Kory.

Afterall, the television slogan for the UnderWorld is: "The UnderWorld: where sin is just another word for pleasure." To Kory, a singing gig, and for a place like the UnderWorld were a dream come true!

Deven Thanos, who is Hades, when he finally gets to meet Kory, didn't intend to, but his feelings for her were much more than he had anticipated. He wanted her in so many ways. He felt things he had never felt before.

When Kory met Deven, she too was drawn to him, and felt things. However, she was just an innocent, and knew nothing of the World in which she entered.

On top of it all, she was a virgin.

She tries out, and sings, and amazes even herself. Thanos shows her around, but lays down rules. He doesn't want her to see things, until he is ready.

But curious, innocent little Kory, goes with her Mother's friends Polly and Joy, also Goddesses, that she is unaware of. And gets an eye full of shock.

Deven and Kory end up falling for one another, deeper and deeper and keeping the relationship under hats from her Mother.

But remember what we don't do to Mother Nature?

Unknown to Kory, her Mother is "Mother Nature" and as the phrase is commonly said: "Its not nice to fool Mother Nature." eventually, Kory 'see's' the light of day and realizes that the road she has traveled in her life, when her Mother has became angry, has resulted in things such as:

Hurricane Katrina when they once lived in New Orleans
Hurricane Sandy  when they lived in Atlantic City
Hurricane Andrew in Florida
and last but not least
Hurricane Hugo in South Carolina
and even a bad Winter Storm up North.

Eventually a nosy Hermes gets involved. And little be known to all, Hecate, had recorded the debut of Kory on her debut night, but also an added bonus. And nosy little Hermes goes to Demeter with the evidence.

Now we have a storm of the century on our hands, and Zues must get involved.

Kory then learn the truth that Deven is Hades and her Mother is the Goddess Mother Nature, and runs from them both. She is now more confused than ever.

She must choose.

As she does so, she too learns of her powers, and even thinks about Deven, and her Mother.

~~~~~~
The book was a very interesting read. I truly enjoyed the experience of the dominatrix and submissive, and how explanatory it was.
I also enjoyed just how sexy Hades seemed, I was very much in love with him myself!
~~~~~~

Now Here are my Questions for Solera!

 1. What made you write this book?

For several years I had the idea that the Persephone and Hades myth might make an excellent journey into D/s. It was an idea I kept coming back to. I love Greek mythology and finally when I needed an idea a couple of years ago for NanoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) I decided to write it.

2. Are any of the Characters derived from real people?

I guess if you can call the mythological gods "real." LMAO. Seriously though, there are bits and composites of real people in all my characters. It's how I make my characters come to life. I think of a trait that the character needs and then try to think of anyone I know that has that personality and while the person themselves isn't in the story, parts of them are.

3. Which character is your favorite?

No question, that has to be Deven. He captured my heart. He's just so sexy.

4. How long have you been working on this book?

I've been working on this one since the end of 2012. It went through a couple of full revisions before it was ready for public eyes. I wrote the first draft in 30 days for the NanoWriMo that year and then put it away for awhile.

5. What are your future writing plans?

I always have lots of plans. :) Next month I have another short coming out in a box set with several other authors called Lucky Stars. The Olympian Seductions series will go on too. I plan to release the next book in the fall. It's a real fun one with Dionysus (the god of wine and orgies--the ultimate partier). It is also set in The UnderWorld, but has a totally different feel. Dionysus falls for two mortals so it's a menage and it's a retelling of the Theseus, Ariadne and Dionysus myth. It's a little lesser known that Persephone and Hades, so that gives me a little more freedom with the story. I'm writing it now and going through all the ups and downs that requires, but I'm loving it and can't wait for readers to read that story as well.

6. What are your hobbies, besides writing?

I do a little painting (mostly acrylics) and sometimes play with ceramics. I'm an avid reader as well so try to get in reading every day too.

7. How long have you been writing?

I tried writing when I was in 6th grade in a take off of Nancy Drew mysteries. I've written off and on my entire life. In 2007 I was able to get into my writing more seriously due to my personal circumstances which changed. It's been a real joy to be able to devote substantial time to it.

8. Who are your favorite Authors?

Kim Carmichael is my bestie and one of my favorite authors to read as well. Another big favorite is Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I like them both for the same reason, they make me laugh and they make me go awww.

9. Who inspires you?

My Sensei who I dedicated the book to is my inspiration at all times, and Kim Carmichael is the person who pushes me to be better. She's been awesome to mentor me and I know Journey to the UnderWorld would never have seen the light of day without her urging.

10. What suggestions can you offer to anyone wanting or thinking of becoming a writer?

Follow your heart and chase your dreams. It's hard work, but worth it. Be true to your muse and tell the story you want to tell no matter what. Most of all...WRITE and keep learning.

11. Does writing come easily for you?

Yes and no. When I get really into the story, it almost writes itself at times. Words fly from my fingers at those times. I'm a total panster, I write by the seat of my pants with very little plotting. That's the hard part of my process. I will be going along just fine and then suddenly I realize, I can't answer the question of what happens next. That's the time that I panic for a bit. Then I usually have a good chat with Sensei or Kim and get my story back on track. LOL

12. Have you ever had "Writers block?"

No not really. Sometimes the writing is slower than other times, but essentially there is always something to write. I push through the slow times. My main issue is finding time to write, there are always other things to be doing or that pull my attention away from the story, but once I'm at the keyboard it's happening.

13. Of your own writings..... What is your favorite Novel?

The next one. :) They all have a special place in my heart. I love UnderWorld, but Dion has captivated me for the moment. My story coming out next month, The Last Date is fun too. Choosing a favorite is like trying to choose your favorite child I suppose.

14. Please provide for us your links to your social sites, and places to find your books:

15. Anything you'd like to add:

Thank you so much for this opportunity. You're awesome Deneale. I have to say that I appreciate all you do.

"Life Could be a Dream" by Scott Curtis

I was lucky enough to acquire the book: "Life Could be a Dream" by second time- Author Scott Curtis. As you may well have noticed, I reviewed his first book, "Mommy's Choice." as well.
 https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX1DDgAGRMaJr4_iWw0I93LicolApIV4kBij1zN9pzgYU_quuXq1I3-NpHsrP2ME5cg_0Z8DOMoC4VE5NbBdI9CJZKd2xg1zNn7xeNn6VJH5Q6OCWf261oi4gNog9gt8sJkS7PmVL1pc4/s1600/Light-red-rose.jpg
http://www.terragalleria.com/images/black-white/us-sw/usaz8853-bw.jpeg
I can honestly say, that Scott Curtis has made his way into my personal category of favorite writers. And that is not an easy title to get. I originally had three favorite Authors, and they were: Stephen King, John Grisham and Iris Johansen.

Several months back, I removed King- for several reasons not worthy of discussion here. But now, in order of preference are as follows: Iris Johansen, Scott Curtis, and John Grisham.

But enough about me, let me tell you about this wonderful book!

This book is not what I expected, especially after reading his first book; I expected it to take a different route all together. Since we were dealing with domestic violence in the book, I thought it would truly be a nightmare, which is a type of dream, or something to do with his past. Because, if you read the back of the book, it deals with the fifties.

Once again, as with "Mommy Dearest" I started the book in the afternoon, and couldn't go to bed until it was done. I wanted to- trust me, and the last five or so pages, I was like so tired, but there was no way I could leave myself with unanswered questions. I had to know more!

Sean is them main character, he is the one with the abusive father. His Mother, Melissa is in abusive relationship, and often worries about her son, because she has already lost her daughter. Well, that in itself, I feel I have said too much, because things turn out so differently at the end, you will have drop jaw. I will tell you, as with many of Scott's books, he time travels in them. As does he in this one. Sean hides out fifty years in the past, in 1958. He meets a beautiful girl, her name is Clara. The book opens your heart, and makes you dream, and think. Most of all, imagine.

If you read "Mommy's choice" you may want to know, if this book, is that detailed in the aspect of the Christianity, and Bible quotations. It does speak and refer to the Bible and Christianity, yes. But no, it is nothing like his first book. It just guides you to look at your life, do things for the greater good, behave yourself and make yourself a better person. Yes, there are biblical quotes, but these ones are more understanding and make a quicker and better impact on you and your life choices. Yes "Mommy's Choice" does the same, but the two are very different, trust me.

I did however email Mr. Curtis, because he is one of those Authors who does want to know what you think. He told me, that he truly enjoyed writing this book. And if you read it, trust me, you will see why. Read it, absorb it, and then use your imagination.

This book is a truly must read. It deals with Science Fiction, romance, life and Christianity. Who knew you could mix them all up like that, but it certainly worked, and I was truly impressed, and now my teens are reading it. I can hardly wait for Mr. Curtis to put out another book, I love being pulled into his thoughts, "dreams" and words. They make me "see" and relate and keep me wanting more.
On a scale of one to ten, ten being the best, I give this book a perfect ten, two thumbs up and a standing ovation!

To you who are reading this, go buy this book! You can get it at Amazon, order online and have it in a few days! You will be glad you did! And that is being said by an avid, every day reader!

"His Reign" by Sascha Illyvich (the Opeth Pack Saga Book 1)

"His Reign" the Opeth Pack Saga Book 1
by Sacha Illyvich

As usual, here I sit, tantalized by Sacha. Wolves and sex. Oh wait..... And cigars. Oh... And more sex. This book is very interesting indeed.

You learn of family values, per the Wolves. You end up hating Kiba, who is the current Alpha of their tribe, but has went seemingly insane. You fall in love imagining Ilona and Lukina long for, try to fix, repair and want for their Alpha and lover Józsi to protect them, and become the new pack leader.... If only they can first conquer and kill Kiba. The story takes place in America and Hungary, back and forth.

The three wolves grew up together, but Józsi left as a young teen, because he didn't believe strongly in the prophecy, fought with Kiba, and knew sooner or later Kiba would prove to be a lousy leader. He left, but secretly came back, to check on his pack mates. He made a new life for himself, but still missed the women he loved deeply.

One day, she arrives and fetches him to take him back, to rescue his other lover, and try to put an end to it. Eventually, he does so, and brings them back to America, it wasn't an easy task mind you. There were fights, turmoils and problems along the way.

The book is very understanding, very deep, and heart felt. The book totally pulled me in, and kept me wanting more and more as I read!

I give this book five stars, and encourage others to check it out, it is a very unique and deep read. Also very sensual. I found it well worth my money spent, and time reading too!

 My Interview Questions for Sascha:

1. Is this Hungarian/Wolf language real?
Yup. Hungarian is a real language.

2. As a frequent reader of your books, is it normal for the male Character to resemble "You" or is that just "me" doing that?
Józsi isn't actually one of "me" per se, he's actually more based on Vin Diesel from Chronicles of Riddick and Pitch Black, with some good old angst thrown in for good measure.

3. Do you create your own wolf rules?
I do indeed.  The world itself was loosely based on the anime "Wolf's Rain" which is a very empty, almost apocalyptic world where wolves are extinct or nearly so.  Mine is not so much the same though.  Not so much extinction, just fear of the wolves from mankind.

4. Are you "secretly" a wolf? giggling?
Come closer, Red…

5. How many wolf books have you written?
Five in the Opeth Pack Saga, Torn to Pieces makes five, Endangered coming soon from Red Sage, makes six and I'm sure I have a few more from other publishers.

6. I've also notice cigars are in your books, and that you also smoke them. Is that too; on purpose?
As of now, it is.  The uniqueness of characters who smoke cigars is a rarity, a trait in manly men we are seeing sadly disappear from books, TV and movies in favor of some health and control nonsense.

7. Out of your books, all of them- which is your favorite and why?
Probably so far, ENDANGERED, which you'll get to review again as it comes out September first from Red Sage

8. Other than yourself, whom is your favorite Author?
Even though I heard less than great things about The King, I'd still have to say JR  Ward.  I have to read the book and make up my own mind, obviously. Her dark worlds and characters inspire me to bring out the inner demons of my own characters.

9. What are your favorite books to read?
Paranormal romances mostly.

10. How much time do you spend writing?
Depends on if I'm on deadline or not.  I can knock out a first draft in two months with a total of 400 pages written, or about 100,000 words just in the draft alone.

11. What is your favorite cigar and why?
It's a toss-up between the Don Cervantes Masaterpiece Platinum, the Tres Maduro or the Propio Léon all by ACC Cigars.  All three cigars are masterfully made by the folks at ACC Cigars using the finest tobaccos to create a complex, rich flavor that's satisfying and rewarding to those who can afford the price of quality.

12. Do you pen pal or epal with your fans?
Yup.

13. Currently how big is your fan base?
Ginormous and growing!

14. Are you married or involved?
Those involved know the answer.

15. Do you get "horny" as you write your own sex scenes?
I fap it twice a day, so…maybe.

16. As always: please include all links, and ways to contact you:

17. Any additional comments you'd like to include:
Look out for Fall Into Love, Book Four of the Opeth Pack Saga coming soon from Secret Cravings, and ENDANGERED coming out from Red Sage September 1st!  On that note, I hope you enjoy reading my books and I thank all my fans, old and new for supporting me.  You're a part of my world!

"The River of No Return" by Chelsea Hoffman

The River of No Return
on the trail of Jim DiMaggio & Hannah Anderson

By Chelsea Hoffman

Date of re~release by Crime Scene Media 11/15/2013

James Lee DiMaggio purchased this beautiful 235,000.00 cabin in 2009. And as you can see, what a beautiful home it is, or should I say: was. Jim was a telecommunications technician with the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego.

On August 4, 2013 the most horrific event took place on the Boulevard in California. The San Diego County Sheriffs Fire Department were alerted to a fire by a telephone call, by someone whom lived in the area. 2071 Ross Ave a two story cabin home, a place that someone once called home and once felt safe in.....

One Kyle Custeay and Captain Gesell discover a female body in the garage under a green tarp. The arson call, immediately becomes a homicide investigation. After finding the dead woman, a bloody crowbar is found. The Police keep this information on the down low, for a while. Hoping it will help with leads. After finding the crowbar, they find a dead slain dog, covered with a sleeping bag. But this still isn't the worst part. A child gets found within the home, so burnt, so distraught in ashes, still smoldering that you can't even tell who it is, let alone what sex the child is.

Not only that, the top of the Child's skull is missing, someone went through some difficult measures to make sure these bodies were unidentifiable.

After realizing this was arson and murder, a Mother Christina Anderson is the woman found dead. The body of the little Child, they took DNA from the marrow in hopes from identifying the body.

On August 6, 2013 an Amber Alert was issued for a teen age girl Hannah Anderson and James Lee DiMaggio who was a close family friend of the woman who laid slain on the garage floor. They first put the alert in residents of California, but eventually across the Nation. The Police were assuming that DiMaggio was the sole executioner of the incidents in question: presumed kidnapping, murder and arson. Let us not forget, the mother was found murdered in the home, and Hannah is missing, and Hannah's brother is still missing too.... Or is he?!

The FBI ends up finding James DiMaggio and.... Killing him. Hannah Anderson is found Alive. The child body: her brother.

Chelsea dedicated her research in this book to: Christina, Ethan and Jim; which she had to have rewritten because the previous publishers ruined it, and vanished. She dedicated her work to them, in hopes that one day: their truths would be told.

Why? Because no one honestly never was able to question James DiMaggio were they? They never were able to hear his side of the story....only Hannah.

These are the questions I publicly ask Chelsea because she wouldn't allow me to email her questions and ask them like I normally do in an interview. So pardon me, because yes, this look unprofessional, but apparently this is the approach I had to take. You work with what you can and when you can, to get what you want!

And I personally, think this read was worth my dollar donation to Chelsea's blog, because this was a very worth while read. Very intriguing.

You can learn more about Chelsea Hoffman at: www.ChelseaHoffman.com and you can find her on www.Twitter.com @CHProfiler!

The above questions you see, are me asking her about the previous editors whom ruined her book, she gives you the details about them in the begining. These publishers seem rude: "Taylor Street Publishing" ....oh and like complete and utter failures.....

Book Review: Wifey: An Adult Novel by Judy Blume!

Wifey

An Adult Novel by Judy Blume

Over Three Million Copies Sold of This Book!!

If you know me, I am an avid reader. But Judy Blume, believe it or not, is someone I didn't read. As you may have noticed, previously I wrote a review on Judy Blume's book Forever.... within that review, I mentioned her book Wifey. Wifey, was my first read, of Judy Blume's, and since that point, I have been a fan.
Wifey, is claimed to be Judy's first adult novel. And adult, it certainly was. When I found her book in a yard sale, I picked it up because my son told me she wrote the book Fudge, and Superfudge, and that she made him laugh, and he really liked her books. As I read the book, I told my son, this book, was not one of her kid- style books, this book was for adults. And my son proceeded to ask me if I had read anything of hers, to which I told him I did not. He then suggested that I get the book. So I spent a quarter, and decided "How can I go wrong?!"

Later that night, I picked up the book and started reading. I was impressed with her style, she wasn't testing my brain with enormous words, and phrases, and things that I needed to research. The story is of a housewife, and oh how she has a dirty mind! The cover states that, just to entice you, and then it states that over three million copies have sold. As I read, there was no doubt in my mind, it was probably "us" three million housewives, that bought the book! WOW!

Judy Blume helps the modern housewife put thoughts that they don't usually allow into their heads, into print. She is a wonderful writer, easy to understand and relate to. If you are looking for something to peak your sexual desires, and interests, this is the book for you. Her character Sandy, if you are a housewife, sometimes you might even be able to relate to also. When will you have a minute to yourself? Take the kids to School, help the kids with their home work, fix dinner, and then what about "you" time. That is something always far and few between. And it is also something we dare not speak of-our needs and desires.

Ages ago sex, was something you whispered about, and sometimes even spelled when the kids were around, like they couldn't figure out what that small three letter word was! Agreeably, today's age, is quite different and a little less discreet. This book is copyrights for 1978, if that tells you how different times were and are, you will well enough see it in the writing. When I first read this, I was new to the sex, somewhat, and a new wife, and mother. Housewife. Then- I found her book, enticing and intriguing. I have since read the book again, several times to be exact, and each time, I find something new in it, if that's possible. But the book, is still interesting to me. I truly enjoyed it, and yes, it made my insides melt. If you are anything like me, when you read, you can see pictures in your head, this is of course, your imagination. And I see, and felt, and even desired. But that of course, is me.

As you already know, I do not blow details in my reviews, because if I like the book enough to review it, then I think you should get it, and read it too. I have read many of books, and you see how many reviews I have written thus far-even though yes- I am behind. But this book on a scale of one to ten, gets a ten plus-plus! It was wonderful read, and if you are at all like me, when you get bored, and haven't got the money to get something to read, and you desire and good read, you will re-read it again.

Judy Blume is a wonderful writer, and she knows how to please any and all readers. As I have said, she writes book for people of all ages, children, adult-teens, even. She has a nice sized list of books out there to enjoy. And a writer that can please one and all, as she does, deserves your applause, and a chance! She knows what she is doing! Trust me. And if you are a husband reading this, or even a boy friend, if you want to spice up your life with your significant other, I suggest getting this. I read a few chapters aloud to my husband- and it did just the trick I was hoping it would! Sometimes reading to one another, rather then watching a DVD, can be just as warm and wonderful as foreplay, it's just a gentler start. Like me, what have you got to lose?

I give this book five very hot, hot hot stars! Once you pick it up, you will not be able to put it down, I promise you that!
