Pack Life By: Leanne Krieger

Pack Life

Leanne Krieger

The cover of this is so pretty. I just love the fact that it looks artistic, it’s something I like to draw attention sometimes, because I feel covers deserve recognition, just as much as much as the books do.

Then I started reading and met Riley, and I felt like I have met her before. Honestly, she seems like a friend I know, and I bet a lot of us have a friend who has had troubled relationships, who honestly felt that they needed to move on, and make a new start. Maybe its even ‘you’ reading this now?

Well, Riley has been through a lot, because on top of all that, she also lost her Mom. Now as she leaves behind Oklahoma to start a new job in Texas as a chef. In her rearview mirror she leaves behind the ex-boyfriend hoping he will not find her, and that she can make a new life for herself.

Her goals include not meeting a new guy, and not falling for him, again. This time, Riley wants to take it easy and laid back, and just live for herself. But life seems to have other plans for her.

At Riley’s new place of employment, there is this one boss, Cole. She just doesn’t understand it, all of the bosses are wonderful, and friendly, and they make her feel so at home. This is not something she is accustomed to, the only person who ever was ever kind to her, was her own Mother. And this Cole character, certainly catches Riley’s eye.

Uncertain of her own feelings, and thoughts, Riley isn’t sure what to do. She feels comforted, and she feels uncertain, both at the same time. What should she do, or should she just stop playing it cautious and dance in the wind?

This is what you need to find out. You need to discover the truth about Riley and read more! You won’t be disappointed, I promise you. This is an insightful read worthy of five beautiful stars! I think this book would make for a great romantic movie to share with a loved one next to the fireplace sipping wine!

Here are my questions for Leanne:

1. What made you write this book & how long did it take you?

Pack life was the 1 was wondering what it would be like to just leave and start over, of course in my 20's with a love for cooking would it be that easy to just start over?
:

2. Who designed the cover?

I did I layered from random photos I had on photoshop.

3. Do you have photos or descriptions of the characters?

I make up my characters in my head as I go, as they are needed by the main characters. All my characters in my books resemble in some way people I know, or people I wish I knew.

4. What do you think about people who leave one star reviews? Do you think they even understood what it was they read? Or even tried to?

At first 1 star honestly hurt, I try and tell a story someone can enjoy and understand and feel the characters. I also have to understand not everyone is in  my head and may not get the message I am trying to get across. Not all of my books will be favorite to everyone, I don't write to please everyone but if one person gets it that makes me happy and accomplished.

5. What is it that motivates you to write? And what led you to become a writer?

What motivates me to write is that I have so much to say, and for the same reason I became a writer. I write what I want to read and what I think people was to escape to.

6. What writer(s) do you hope to meet in the near future?

Stephen King would be my number one

7. What are your hobbies?

Reading, writing, cooking, and crafting

8. What is your favorite book of all time?

I do have a few but one that sticks out for me is "Are you there god it me Margaret." By Judy Blume it was one of the first books I read that was given to me by a friend, telling me I have to read this book, it was probably inappropriate at the time but it was a memory of one of the first books.

9. Of your own books, which do you like best and why?

I love them all for different reasons, because I was at a different point in my writing life, with all of them, but it has to be Madison, my first book.

10. Do you have a certain rituals while writing?

I do have certain rituals, one is I wear headphones and listen to music, mostly gangster rap, lol.

11. Where is your favorite place to write?

My favorite place is in m bedroom

12. What All education have you had?

Associates degree in business and literature, besides taking courses wherever I could to learn more about proper writing. Maybe should have listened more. lol

13. Please provide for us your social media and book links:

Amazon: Leanne Krieger Twitter @leanne2books201

14. Anything to add:

I write because I love the written word, I love that a sentence can change someones life for the better. A paragraph if written correctly, can change someones mood and bring them to a place they may never knew existed. I read for those same reasons, I hope curiosity continues and writers get to tell their stories to readers who will listen.

After the Rain - One Pass Away Book One by Mary J. Williams

After the Rain
One Pass Away Book One

By: Mary J. Williams

It hasn’t been easy for Claire Thorton, she is a woman with no money and no connections, however she is a woman who has earned everything she has on her own Claire is a strong woman who goes after her dreams, and get what she wants, and she feels it is high time to make a difference in her life.

Logan Price was an ex NFL football player for the Seattle Knights, who had injured his leg, and sent him back to Oklahoma. When he tried to make a comeback it caused him to go into a deep depression.

Logan meets his old friend who decides to offer him another chance. Logan had finally been able to be someone without football. He was currently working at his fathers bar, and running daily. Now Logan wasn’t sure if getting his hopes up, would kill him if he ended up losing everything all over again.

Claire has decided it was time to make something of herself and Logan. She decided that helping Logan get back to the NFL will prove to her detractors that she can be a trainer and that she is determined to make in a world where the males seem to dominate society.

It only takes one kiss for Logan and Claire to realize the two of them want and need one another to make both of their dreams come true.

This was my time reading a sport related book, and as a person who likes football, and understands it, I truly loved it. I also enjoy the NFL, and this book, “After the Rain” gives you real insight as to how players do get hurt, and just how much it damages them inside and out. People need to see and know that, it is an emotional and physical experience. Not many people see and know this. They just assume that these players that we all watch, and depend on to win us these football games, our heroes, are always indispensable, when in fact they are not. They are people just like we are. Side lining them, retiring them, and forgetting about them, takes a toll on them as much as letting them play.

This book is truly a wonderful realistic look, and for all of you who like football, the NFL, and all the wonders of it, you truly need to read this, and respect the writing that went into this book. Mary did a wonderful job, and I am truly impressed with her representation. This is a beautiful five star read, and well worth being entered into any contests to represent the NFL, or its players, and insight toward them. I think this book truly needs more recognition, there is more here than meets the eye. I was astounded, and couldn’t put it down, and honored to have been able to read and interview Mary.

Here are my questions for Mary:

1. What led you to write "After the Rain" and how long did it take?
I've always loved romances that centered around sports. It was a toss-up between football and baseball. football winning only because it was football season when I started the book. I saw it as a three book series that takes place during one Seattle Knights season. After the Rain follows Logan on his journey back to the NFL after suffering a career ending injury.
It took me a month to write. I'm a fast writer. The story comes to me as I go along, taking twists and turns that I didn't see coming. Often, this happens when characters are speaking to each other. One of them will say something I didn't expect and suddenly they story has a new direction. I love when that happens.

2. Do you have photos and/or description of Logan and Claire?
I like to have my covers done before I start a book. I had a general idea of how Logan would look, but when I say the picture that is on the cover, I knew I had him. It is my favorite cover to date.
Claire wants to be a trainer for the Knights football team. I pictured an athletic woman. Tall and lean. A beautiful blonde to contrast Logan's dark hair and the dark place he has fallen into. Claire brings light into his life in so many ways. It was an important contrast for the book.

3. What are you working on now?
Today I am on page 6 of Dreaming of Your Love. It is the third book in my Hollywood Legends series. Book one is available and book two is getting a final polish before I put it out for pre-order. It will publish in March. I've finished book two in the football series. After All These Years is with my editor and will be out in April. I've given myself the challenge of putting out a book every month this year. I'm on track to do it, but we'll see. Life can throw you a loop. If I have to skip a month or two, it won't be the end of the world.

4. What all education do you have?
I graduated with a BA in English and a minor in photography from Eastern Washington University.

5. What are your hobbies?
At the moment? Writing. I love to read and movies are a passion. I'm always making references to movies in my books. I love to bake. Dessert of any kind. Though cookies are my favorite.

6. Do you like football AND who is your favorite NFL team?
I love sports. But football is right near the top. The Seattle Seahawks are my team. I've been a fan through the good and the bad. At the moment, they are a great team. But if that changes, I'll still be rooting them on.

7. What is your favorite thing about football in particular?
The intensity. The passion that you see on the field, every play, every second. It draws the viewers. I find it irresistible.

8. What do you suggest to any aspiring writers?
WRITE EVERY DAY. I talked about doing this for a long time. It isn't something you can do here an there. If you want to get better you have to do it on a regular basis. For me, that means doing it daily. Sometimes it is only a paragraph. Sometimes it is ten or fifteen pages.
And don't sweat the small stuff. This is a frustrating business. Bad reviews, poor book sales. Those things are inevitable. You need to decide why you are doing this. If it's to make a lot of money, sorry. That isn't likely to happen. Especially right away. But it you love writing, then don't let anything discourage you. Some will read your book. Trust me.

9. What is your favorite part of this book?
At the start of the story, Logan is in a very dark place. He's lost his dream and the future seems bleak. His journey out of the dark is my favorite part. Hope and a determined woman will do wonders for a man's attitude.

10. Who is/are your favorite Author(s)?
For me, it starts and ends with Nora Roberts/J. D. Robb.
I was a historical romance girl before I started reading Nora Roberts. It changed the direction of my reading habits and the kind of books I decided to write. In my eyes, she can do no wrong.

11. Please share with us your social media links and book links:

Thank you Deneale for giving me the opportunity to meet your readers. Happy reading, everyone.

 About the Author:

Want to know how to motivate yourself to write a book?
Have your favorite football team lose the Super Bowl.
On the last play.
With an interception.
The next day I was so depressed I tuned out all media. No TV, no internet, no newspapers--nothing. And I started to write. I'm still writing.
As you can see, a little motivation can do wonders.
Football will play a big part in a series of books due out next year. And since I'm writing the ending? No interceptions. Guaranteed.

Please feel free to stop by my Facebook page and my website.

Strange Beginnings (the Killing Chronicles Book1) Candi Fox

Strange Beginnings
(the Killing Chronicles Book 1)

By Candi Fox

Can you imagine investigating what you thought might have been a spill…or maybe it’s something else, to find that it’s a pool of blood. And then to look up from said pool of blood, and to see dead bodies….this is just not something you even want to imagine or think about. Now imagine these are bodies of someone close to you….

In order to best hide from ones past, the wisest choice to is to disappear. Although this seems like running and hiding, like maybe you have something to hide, it is the best thing you can do when you are trying to stay alive. Start over, and make a new beginning.

With Emmaline Blackwell , she is trying to get rid of a violent stalker who has been unsuccessful with trying to kill her in the past. Her option is to change her name, and move to smaller more isolate town, and make a new beginning.
The only problem is when you get a stalker, they don’t give up, and will she be safe? Will her problems keep following her?

Fortunately once she moves to Stillwater, OK Emma meets their Sheriff a handsome man named Cord Masterson, who believe it or not, has a secret of his own. And what’s even better, once Cord and Emma meet it's like they are meant to be! But this just might be the strange new beginning she needs, or will it?

This book was fast paced, and as well as fascinating, all wrapped up into one. I truly enjoyed this book, and the fear, and wonder around every turn. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next. This was a true mystery, thriller that kept you on your toes. I give this book a true five shiny stars, and I certainly would love to read more! I can’t wait to read book 2! You need to check this out for yourself; it’s truly an edge of your seat book!

My Questions for Candi:

.

1.What made you write this?

I started researching ghost stories in Oklahoma and stumbled upon a town not far from Stillwater, OK called Ingalls. Ingalls had the biggest shoot out in the Old West. Even bigger than the one in Tombstone. It was just not publicized as much. The battle took place on Sept. 1, 1893 between United States Marshall’s and the Doolin-Dalton Gang.

In the process of researching this newly found evidence the idea for the character Emma was formed. Along with Emma one of the main hero’s in the book Cord Masterson, who is descended from one of the original U.S. Marshall’s also formed. As with all my main characters, they just wouldn’t shut up until I wrote them down.

2. How long did it take to write this?
I participated in the 2014 NaNoWrimo for the first time. I was sick for several days. After getting over the illness I wrote around 10,000 words and chucked them all. I wrote Strange Beginnings in about 12 days working 16 hours a day.

3.Do you have any photos or pictures or descriptions of any of your characters?
Cord was inspired by model Gary Taylor

Chandler was inspired by Brock O’Hurn

   Emma is on the cover

4. Any suggestions to anyone wanting to become a writer?

Write every day. Never give up. Read, read, read.

5. Who are your favorite Author(s)?

Laurell K. Hamilton, Suza Kates, Johanna Lindsey

6. How long have you been writing?

I have been writing for about a decade. I have poetry that has been published. I also have more than a thousand articles published online in magazines. This is my first published novel.

7. What are your hobbies?

Horseback riding. I grew up around horses. They are so amazing. I also enjoy being with friends and spend time going to Renaissance Faires with my husband.

8. What are you working on now?

I just finished Harlequin’s Deception. The first book in the Naked Truth series. I am currently working on Sweet Obsession, which is book two in The Killing Chronicles.

9. Please provide for us any ways to follow you and your work:
You can find me on Face Book: CandiFox1, CandiFoxAuthor. I’m also CandiFox on Instagram and Twitter. My blog is All Things Candi.

10. Anything extra you would care to add:
I want to thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to review Strange Beginnings. Thanks to everyone who is reading this. A huge thanks to every person who has read/will read my book.
