Scandalous

This
book, did you see the cover? I love it! I have a similar painting like this is
my craft room, without the girl, but its ships with an orange sky. What?! You
don’t want to hear about that? Oh. The book. Got it, my bad.
Well,
it takes place a long, long time ago in 1860. There’s this guy, whose name is
Adrian Casimir. But in all honesty, he is really Captain Bain Navarre, who
happens to be a pirate on the high seas. However, he has disguised himself as
Adrian and as a shipping mogul.
Now,
there’s this lady, her name is Farrah Devore, her father has recently been
widowed, and he is a plantation owner. Farrah, is struggling with the loss of
her mother, and a courtship to a man she doesn’t even want to be with: Ethan
Abrams.
Farrah’s
eye’s catch the view of the handsome pirate, and she can’t help but feel her
insides stir, as her desires awaken, and needs she never even knew she had come
alive.
Adrian
has plenty up his sleeve, and everyone knows they are not meant to be, but when
a woman has wants and needs, she isn’t about to let anything get in her way.
However, even family will stop at nothing to interfere with her new-found
desires.
And
this is a time where a nation is being ripped apart by hatred, war is the
answer for everything, and brothers will fight against brothers, and it doesn’t
really matter who is right in the long run. So, let me ask you this, do you
honestly think love can survive, and conquer all? And do you think it is meant
to be? What will become of the pirate and Farrah if anything?
You
must buy this book yourself to find out, I can’t just give you all of the
answers! The only thing I will tell you, is this: Alexis Kennedy is a wonderful
writer, and she will keep you guessing, and wanting more, as you follow her
through her ‘Scandalous’ words. She promises an excellent read, and has done
just that with an excellent five-star book, once again!
1.
What made you write this book and how long did it take you?
I wanted to try writing historical
romance since it’s a new genre to me, and I really enjoyed it. It took me 24
days to write it.
2.
Who designed this beautiful cover?
I chose the photos, and The Magic
Quill Graphics designed it.
3.
Do you have any photos or descriptions of the characters that you can share
with us?
Farrah Devore is a strong willed and
fearless young lady. She’s mourning her mother and trying to be a proper
Southern belle for her father’s sake. When she meets Adrian Casimir, she feels
the first feelings of desire and love. Opposed to the idea of marrying the man
her father wants to force upon her, she runs away to find Adrian.
Adrian Casimir is my favorite book
boyfriend! He’s dashing, of course, strong, clever, kind, sexy, and courageous.
He’s a shipping mogul in Arlington, Virginia, but he’s Bain Navarre, pirate
captain of the Night Marauder, on the
high seas.
4.
What are you working on now?
I’m writing Pin-Up Girl, a
choose-your-own adventure book, at the moment. I used to love those books when
I was a kid. 😊 Set in 1954, it
is the adventure of wallflower Amelia Green as a photographer discovers her and
helps her realize her dream of being a star.
5.
Where do you get your story ideas from?
I’ve always had an active imagination,
but sometimes a movie or television show, or even just a conversation with
someone, will inspire a book. Sometimes, I come up with the title first, like
with Angry House, and then I’ll come up with the story to go with it.
6.
Have you ever received a negative review? If so, why do you think people leave
one star reviews?
Yes, I’ve had one-star reviews before;
thankfully, not many. One that I remember is one where the reviewer admitted to
not even reading the whole book. She skipped whole sections. In that case, I
don’t feel the review was warranted. I understand that not every book is for
everyone, but I believe in being fair with your reviews. If you didn’t even use
the product, how can you honestly review it?
Why do people leave one-star reviews?
I’m not sure, but I guess they might be reading outside of their usual genre,
and it just wasn’t for them. Also, maybe the characters seemed flat. I read a
book once that had such a slow start, it took me about eight tries to finally
read it, and then I liked it. She just needed to fix the beginning, which was
boring.
7.
Did you imagine yourself becoming an Author when you were younger? Was that one
of your dreams as a child?
No, I wanted to be a veterinarian or
teacher when I was little. I became a teacher in the end. I’ve been writing
poetry since I was 14 as a way to deal with my feelings when my older brother
died. My first novel was a short story that I wrote for a boyfriend in 2009. I
kept looking at it and decided it was good enough to turn into a book. Thus,
Bound Through Blood came to fruition.
8.
Have you ever thrown a manuscript away?
No, not yet. 😊
9.
What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
When readers beg me for more. I also like
escaping into worlds I can control when I feel like I’ve lost control of my
life.
10.
Do your characters ever tell ‘you’ what to write, per se?
Yes, I don’t plot my stories out. I go
with the flow and what my characters want. I like to watch everything unravel
and reveal itself.
11.
Who is your favorite Author of all time?
Shannon Drake
