The Pixie's Passion Book 1 of the Mortal Champion by Reed James

The Pixie's Passion

Book 1 of the Mortal Champion
Reed James

I love reading Reed’s books, in facts I request them. This man knows exactly how to get in and down and dirty, if you know what I mean.

The part that I found most unique was this book involved faeries! Don’t get me wrong, I’ve read and seen faeries have intercourse, but not through the eyes and fingers of Reed James!

Mauve must face obstacles for the man her heart craves, to quote Reed James:

“It falls on the slender shoulders of Maeve to find and win the Mortal Champions heart.”

The queen whose name is Mab, she sends into the hunt one of her very own trusted servants where she hopes he will find and bind the Mortal Champion to Winter in hopes of making things the way she wants them to be. With her hopes of success, she can win the balance between Summer and Winter. Queen Mab wants to win and end this war.

Gunnar will go to the small college campus in hopes to prove his own destiny. At the College there is so much to learn, and so many new things to experience that he hadn’t expected.

Pixie cannot believe what Queen Titania has chosen to do! She fears for the worst, and hopes for the best. Pixie must put forth her passion and trust her instincts and make it her goals to help with this war. She must make the right choices.

The Mortal World will soon get a surprise visit as Maeve heads there to visit it and see what she can do to help. She has but only one goal. And she can’t help but trust her heart.

I give this book five stars, it was truly an exceptional read. I wasn’t planning on reading a story like this, when Reed sent this to me, but I soon enough feel deeply in love with his work like always. His work is truly tasty, and designed to keep you wanting more, in more ways than one. I loved that there was a great story line, and a lot romance, with the perfect amount of pleasure. A truly astounding pleasing book. A must read for those who like fae’s and sex with an excellent plot twist!

My questions for Reed:

1. What made you write this?
I think the roots lead back to the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. He has several novels revolving around fairies and the way he portrayed both courts was fascinating. I was looking for something to write, something mixing erotica and fantasy, and the idea of a naughty pixie searching for love was the inspiration.

2. How long did it take to write this?
A month

3.Do you have any photos or pictures or descriptions of any of your characters?

Here's a pretty good Maeve
(she's a little more playful)

and Ellyllon (pictured next below:)

is an evil fey that shows up later in the story.
And the woman in the dress of flowers is what Titania's dress looks like. Never found a good pic of Corrigan

4. Any suggestions to anyone wanting to become a writer?

Read a lot, study grammar, and make time to write, even it is terrible. Just write. You need the practice.

5. Who are your favorite Author(s)?

JRR Tolkein, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson

6. How long have you been writing?

Consistently, 2 years, but I have written since Junior High

7. What are your hobbies?

Reading, watching let's plays on youtube

8. What are you working on now?

The Magical Girl Chronicle, a series that parodies the magical girl genre from Japan featuring college girls transforming into sexy customs and fighting lusty tentacle monsters with sexual magic.
A Futa and Her Dragon: A fantasy series about a futanari thief that awakens a futa dragon. Magic, sex, and adventure follow Isthia and her dragon!

The Werewolf's Harem: An Alpha werewolf and his harem of sexy women fight other werewolves, hunters, monsters, witches, and more in this story of sex, polyarmours love, shifters, magic, and more.

And, for the future, a fantasy erotic series called the Knight and the Acolyte.

9. How hot and bothered do you get while writing your books?
I can get pretty hot and bothered. In the beginning, I often had to take, um, breaks. Now I have better self-control. I still take time to "think about my writing." ;)

10. Reading your books, I can't help but ask- how popular are you with the ladies?
Not very. I'm an introvert. I really don't go out much and I am shy.

11. Do you ever dream about your books and characters?
Yes. Though usually it is my dreams inspiritn new stories.

Pierce: A Vampire Series Novella 1 by Jolie du Pre

Pierce:  A Vampire Series

Novella 1
By Jolie du Pre

Alicia Johnson, a 24 year old waitress has a strong fear of Vampires. So much so she refuses to work the night shift. As with any job, we all know how they are, and that there are times when we are needed to cover one another shifts from time to time.

Alicia whom is already deep in debt compliments of a cheating ex fiance, eventually realizes she needs to take the shift. So she decides to talk her boss into calling a cab, and paying the fare, so at the very least she doesn’t have to deal with the bus system, and will feel safer.

This is a whole new World, the CDC has signs posted everywhere, warning people to beware of vampires, and the humans live in fear of them.

With a crazy Vampire like Bess, whose only desire is to be with Dagon, she will get sloppy and make mistakes. Bess, Dagon and Vince are traveling around determined to make trouble where ever they go. Dagon is a sexy hunk that once everyone sees him, they can't stop looking at him.

This book was fast paced and totally enjoyable. I loved how easily it was to follow along and understand. I also enjoyed the fact the language, though to most may be considered foul and adult, in all honesty, this is how most people speak. I like books that are more real life, and not afraid to act like people truly do, rather than act fake.

I give this book five stars, because it is realistic, and short and sweet, more for the modern day and age. I like how fast paced it is, and realistic. The book itself, seems more true to life than a lot of books I have read. People like to pretend they talk all prim and proper, when in fact they don’t. Jolie calls them like they are. The same way she speaks! I like that about her! She isn’t afraid to act like someone herself behind a book, the same character she is in real life, portrays through her books. I like that about her! Very open and honest and classy! You need to check this book out, it is an excellent Vampire story that will knock your socks off!

My Questions for Jolie:

1. What made you write this?

I've always been a lover of monsters of all types.  Earlier, my focus was zombies.  However, I wanted to work on a different breed.  So, vampires it is!

2. How long did it take to write this?

It takes me approximately two weeks to write a novella.

3. Do you have any photos or pictures or descriptions of any of your characters?

I don't have specific photos.  What I can say is that my characters are all attractive Millennials.  The 22 to 28 range are my ages.

4. Any suggestions to anyone wanting to become a writer?

Don't do it!  No, seriously, it's hard work with no guarantee of success.  I write only because there's nothing else out there that I want to do.

5. Who are your favorite Author(s)?

Augusten Burroughs, Truman Capote, Ann Rule, Vincent Bugliosi

6. How long have you been writing?

Since 2000 or so.

7. What are your hobbies?

Pole dancing for fitness, cooking, gardening, reading memoirs and true crime books.

8. What are you working on now?

I'm working exclusively on the Pierce vampire novella series.

Wings of Darkness Book 1/Immortal Sorrows Series by Sherrie A. Wingler

Wings of Darkness

Book 1 of the Immortal Sorrows Series
Sherrie A. Wingler

Isabel gets into a car accident, and as we all know when you’re dying, the Angel of Death comes looking for you! This is where Asher intervenes.

As you may suspect, Izzy, suddenly begins healing, and she becomes concerned with her new self.

Izzy’s best friend Gwen listens to her as she shares her own personal events and also is more than a friend, but also a true confidant.

Asher and Izzy become close and learn amazing things about one another, and themselves, and together they become more amazing than ever before. Love guides them and makes them more powerful than they could ever imagine.

You will fall in love with Izzy and Asher, and even her best friend Gwen. This book was a truly inspirational read, written much better than “Twilight.” Personally I found it more appealing than the all the characters and the whole “Twilight Saga”, because the characters were more life-like, and personable. They felt and seemed like more natural and realistic. No offense to those who think “Twilight” is the best. I beg to differ, and I have read a lot.

You truly need to give this book a read, especially if you even remotely think “Twilight” is good. After you read this, I think you will think differently. I give “Wings of Darkness” five stars, because I truly fell in love with the romance, and survival story. It was an amazing read, well written, and easy to follow along, and understand. I truly enjoyed this story, and I think you will too!

Here are my questions for Sherrie:

1.What made you write this?

I think this was the turn my midlife crisis took! Seriously. I turned 40 and decided that
book I’d always wanted to read wasn’t going to write itself. I wanted to write paranormal
romance because I love reading it. I just wanted something a little different from the usual
vampire or werewolf/shifter novel. So I made my main character Death. Then Fate and
Time got involved and all hell broke loose!

2. How long did it take to write this?

It took 8 months to write, but a lot of that was figuring out how to self-publish. I also had a ton of procrastinating to do, because that’s just part of the process. Plot, procrastinate,
then write in a blind panic as the deadline looms… You get the picture!

3. Do you have any photos or pictures or descriptions of any of your characters?

I have some awesome covers designed by the amazing Danella Miller of Danella’s
Designs. I’m including the link here and I encourage you to go visit her. She also does
website design and gorgeous photography! http://danellasdesigns.com/

4. Any suggestions to anyone wanting to become a writer?

Study your craft. Don’t put just anything out there and slap your name on it. Teach
yourself the basics before you go crazy and try to write a whole series. Also, it doesn’t
hurt if you turn into a marketing ninja. Nobody tells you that Indie authors are not only
writers, but the CEO of their own little publishing empire. All the marketing is on you, so
take the time to do it properly. Oh, and also, other writers aren’t competition. They’re yourco-workers and they will build you up like nobody else can, because they know what you’re going through.

5. Who are your favorite Author(s)?

There are so many! Ok, all-time favorite will always be Charlotte Bronte. Love me some
“Jane Eyre.” I’m heavily read in the classics and that book never gets old for me.
Current authors: DM Singh for “Regina: The Monster Inside,” (and I believe there’s going to be a 2nd book released in a matter of weeks!) Claudette Melanson for “Rising Tide: Dark Innocence.”  Those are both awesome vampire series you don’t want to miss out on.

6. How long have you been writing?

I wrote a book when I was 19 and put it away. I thought I was done. As it turns out, it was just practice. I haven’t written much of anything for 20 years, but then I started writing again when I turned 40, so there was a pretty huge gap there between wanting to and actually doing.

7. What are your hobbies?

If you ask my husband, I collect cats. Lol. No, seriously I have rescued as many little critters as I could manage. Now that we’re at capacity, I stick to donating to the ASPCA and my local shelter. As far as other hobbies, I don’t really have time for one. My regular job gives me a whopping 2 days off a month, and writing and marketing take up the rest of my downtime. I wrote my books in an hour a day because some days that’s all the time I had.

8. What are you working on now?

I’m working on a couple of things. A short prequel to The Immortal Sorrows series. “A Glimpse into Darkness.” It’s going to be novella length and priced as cheaply as I can possibly make it as a thank you to the current followers of my series and also as an introduction for new readers. I’m also working on book 3 of the series, “Wings of Defiance.” It mainly follows two of the secondary characters, Grim and Gwen. They’re such strong characters, people were asking for more so that’s what I did. I gave them a book.Defiance is coming slower than the first two books because I took off for the summer to renovate a house. The house is almost finished now, so I’m getting back into my books which makes me very happy.

9. Please provide for us any ways to follow you and your work:

10. Anything extra you would care to add:

I just wanted to thank you for taking time out to read and review my books! There’s nothing better than getting feedback on a book, so for anyone out there reading this, leave reviews for your authors. Whether they’re Indie or traditionally published, I guarantee that they read every review.
