The Wisconsin Samurai By: Scott McElhaney

The Wisconsin Samurai

By: Scott McElhaney

I was on Amazon, and this book popped up. Automatically I knew that the title has another meaning, I mean really? Not to mention, I know the Author. Literally.

So, here I am on page one, reading. Thinking the book must’ve loaded wrong, because it seemed to start off in the middle of everything, so I flip backwards, taking me back to the cover. Nope, there I am back to cutting the cheese. Which means, I can continue.

I end up laughing so hard throughout this book that tears came to my eyes. I just couldn’t stop. The neighbors were looking at me on my porch like I had a problem. I mean, I wasn’t on the phone, and here I was alone. The looks I was getting. Yep, she’s lost her mind.

No, this book is so comical that even if you are in bad mood, I promise you, trying to resist laughing: you’ll fail. I in fact promise you, that you will fail.

Allow me to demonstrate: Rip Ricotta is attending High School, where their Mascot is the Bleu Devils. And Rips has a best friend, and his name is Colby. And as you already know, the story takes place in Wisconsin.

There are cheese factories there, I mean of course. We all know that Wisconsin is the cheese capitol is the World, right?

Well, there is this one guy who is dating the hottest girl at the high school, and her name is Brie. The guy dating her is Jack Monterey. They get into a squabble at the football game, and this is the first incident where Rip realizes her has a talent, if you will.

Rip didn’t like the fact that Jack had the audacity to push Brie and knock her down. As she was getting back to her feet, Rip could tell, that Jack was going to attempt to hit her. That’s when it happened. The slow-motion action to save the girl, and the day kicked into action. And the thoughts of ‘What was I thinking?’ At the same time.

Well low and behold there were nachos and cheese involved. Luckily for those involved though, they were the round nachos. Otherwise, I think there could’ve been more damage then what happened. This is where the Samurai actions proved to impact the cheese and proved to cause various explosions in cutting the cheese.

Then compliments of this factor, we end up learning the whole story line is involved in a mystery type thriller with a twist and turn that will blow your socks away. Because all through as I read, I was ready to frame Silent But Dedli then comes in the Asiago Axer. She is a Samurai, but she is woman, and a quite sexy one too. But whoever is she? And whose side is she really on? I am getting more and more confused. And then Rip gets tied up. And guess who he wakes up with!

There is a ‘Lifetime Acheezment Award, whereas Misty Colon and SB Dedli have been in competition for every year! Which is part of the plot twist in this book!

And there is also the ‘National Cheese Cutters Association’ NCA which I know my husband and brothers are both proud members of. Not to mention, the ‘Texas CheeseSaw Massacre.’

After you read this book: maybe you too should join Rip and Rose for some boiled cabbage and eggs! Let that ferment on your mind for a minute….

This book is everything I could’ve ever wanted in a book, it made me smile and laugh so many times, I literally ended up forgetting what I was doing! Need a distraction from life? Read this! It is a five-star read that will make you will tell your friends about for days! And every time you fart, you’ll think about it again! This is a genuine comedy if I have ever read one!

My Interview questions for Scott:
1.     How long did this book take you to write? Less then a week, it was rather quick and easy to write. I just compiled myself and my wit into and book about cutting the cheese and here it is!

2.    What is your favorite thing about this book? The fact that the character of Rip does his moves in slow motion. I mean, who does that? I can just picture it. I just think it unique and funny. And I like that about him.

3.    Did this book make you laugh? Very much so, even as I reread it.

4.    Is your family embarrassed when you talk about farts and make jokes about them? No, they know that’s just me.

Example facebook post from Scott, and I ask if this was legit and he said yes!

5.    Did you plan on being a writer when you were a kid? Yes, ever since I was like in sixth or seventh grade. I just started putting my toys and characters and their actions and thoughts down on paper, and it would just form into books.

6.    Was the Wisconsin Samurai fun to write? Very much so. I even bought a few paperbacks to take with me to work to share them. I want people to read them, to make them laugh.

7.    About how many books have you published this far? I believe around thirty-five, and still going.

8.    What is your favorite book of your own? I’d have to say Mommies Choice, and the Mystic Saga. Mommies Choice was very hard to write toward the end. The last few chapters were very touching. I could only do a chapter at a time.

9.    What are you working on now? The Maxima Files. Every time I think I’m done, I have more to write. It’s a story about a twelve-year-old girl that’s a super hero. You should check it out. They need read in order. It’s really fun and exciting to write too.

Danny's Heat By: A.J. Storm

Danny’s Heat

By: A.J. Storm

Let me just start by saying: have you looked at the cover of this book. If not, please go look now. And let me just know if in fact, you have a smile or even a smirk on your face. Because that’s all I need to know. In my case, I couldn’t open the book for a few moments. I tried. I won’t lie. But the cover just kept looking back at me. That hunk was looking directly into my eyes! What? You don’t believe me? Go look again.

Now, as for the book. Wait. Let me describe Danny to you. You know you want me to. Because everyone When everyone looks at him, they do notice that he is five feet nine inches tall. I mean, you can just tell that by looking at him. But then, you see these masculine washboard abs, and the biceps, and his thin waist. And you’re like, uh huh. Let us not forget he has brown curly locks of hair and he is tan, so he is every persons dream boat all wrapped up in one.

And then to ice the cake….yes there is more. He adopted a black Labrador retriever who goes everywhere with him. Now tell me this could just be the perfect man? Now are ya ready to hear about the book yet? LOL

Danny resides in San Francisco and works for ‘The Organization.’ And this time, they are sending him on a mission to return ‘The Beautiful Lady, Molly Grey’ from Seattle. This, Danny had presumed would be a painting. Danny’s boss has explained that this, had been stolen from him, and Danny is to return it to him.

However, Danny later realizes that ‘The Beautiful Lady, Molly Grey’ is anything but a painting. She is in fact beautiful, and blonde. And on their return to San Fran down highway 101, Danny and she bond.

Danny who has his fair share of secrets and a past, comes to realize that this friendship could be much more than he has wanted. And whence he realizes he is to deliver Molly Grey to ‘The Organization’ its then that he realizes, maybe it’s more that he wants.

This book was a book to delve into and it kept me wanting to know what would happen in the long run. I seriously wondered about Molly Grey, and the boss, in fact, to the point that I was concerned. I kept reading because the book had me wanting and craving the need to know. This book is a full five-star read. You will want to bury yourself in the pages and you will enjoy every moment of it. As always, A.J. Storm satisfies the dreams of the readers!

Here are my questions for A.J.:
1. What made you write this book and how long did it take you?
I wanted to write a different book than I'd ever written...a different kind of paranormal. The book came to me relatively fast. It took about 5-6 months from start to publish.

2. Can you describe - or do you have any photos of the characters?
The two main characters are on the cover. Danny Michaels is the human and the chocolate lab is Lady. My chocolate lab whose name is Lizzie is the dog on the cover. I used her personality to match Lady's.

3. What was your favorite part about the book "Danny's Heat"?
I think the last 4-5 chapters are my fav. I can't give any of it away because it would ruin the ending for the reader.

4. Out of all your own books which one is your favorite?
This is a hard question. So far of my series, I would have to say it's a tie between Emily's Passion/Right of Passion and Fortune's Eyes/Fortune's Daughter. They are two very different stories but equally loved.

5. What are you working on now?
I'm working on a sequel to my book called The Blood Rose. This book is called Child's Play and continues the lives of Kathryn and Damian, plus one.

6. What is your favorite childhood book of all time?
Any of the Nancy Drew books.

7. Where is your favorite place to write?
In my recliner in the living room so I can look out my window into the backyard. I put on my ear buds and listen to music as I write.

8. What inspires you to write?
My characters do. They speak to me and tell me their stories while I write them down. Music also inspires the mood of each scene as it plays out.

9. What kind of books do you yourself prefer to read?
I love paranormal romance, MC books, BDSM romance, and Sci-Fi.

I always have to encourage readers to leave a review for the author. Without the input of the reader, we as authors have no way to determine where we need improvement. We need your thoughts.
