Forever Bound By: Amanda Kimberley

Forever Bound

Blood is thicker then bloodlines...

The cover of this book is down right sexy. Therefore, looking at makes you think, this book is going to be a hot one, or at least a love story.

This is book three of a series, which I didn’t know when I started reading it. I just started reading it. And I don’t know if it’s a requirement that you need to read these books in order, or together as a series, but as I stated, I did not, and this book seemed to read perfectly alone when I read it. Therefore, in my opinion, this book can be read as a standalone. However, it is up to you.

Allow me to start by informing you that Cheng Huang, the Jade Emperor has a death sentence on Alec and Lilith. This is where I think the details from prior may or could have been in other books, but I am uncertain.

However, I do know that Alec was everything that Lilith had ever wanted and imagine in a lover. He loved taking care of her and her needs. He was caring, and he was just everything she ever wanted, and more.

Except for the problem they shared.

The two of them had to be able to withstand the rebellion of the werewolves, and this was coming fast. This was not going to be avoidable.

These werewolves planned to give rise to Demetrese, ruler of the Underworld, during a rare planetary alignment in the Ming Dynasty. And the thing is, will someone’s dead heart learn to beat for the Obsidian? What path could this story take, when there are so many different twists and turns?

That’s just the thing, just when you think you have it figured out, you don’t. And here you are rooting for Lilith and Alec, and hoping for the best, and worrying, and oh no. Something else happens unexpectedly.

I was on the edge of my seat all through this book. I loved the ups and down, and the twists and turns. And I just was totally into everything. It was totally an amazing five-star book. You will love this book, trust me.

So, if you want something different, you’ll want to grab yourself a copy of this book, because it will entertain you clear to the end!

Here are my questions for Amanda:
1. What made you write this book and how long did it take you? I started writing this book in 2010 or 2011 as a prequel to Forever Friends because the voices of Alec and Lilith wanted to be heard. The book did take me a good amount of years to write in between taking care of my grandpa who had Alzheimer's, my grandma who had post-polio and CHF, and my mom who also had Alzheimer's. All three of them were huge fans of my work and I had grown to feel that I wouldn't honor that memory if I didn't publish it. So, I did earlier this year.

2. Do you have any photos or descriptions of your characters? Yes, I do! Pictured here is Lilith with Alec.

3. What are you working on now? Another book in the Forever Series called "Forever Immortal" and a book in The Witch Journals Series called "Trial by Township".

4. What inspires you to write? This is a tough question for me to answer because writing is like breathing to me. I just can't stop doing it. I've tried to, especially when I was younger and trying to pay off my college debt at a job that was on the opposite spectrum of writing. I was in retail management at the time and the 80-hour work weeks left me pretty tired. But even then characters, especially Raine, another character in the Forever Series, just didn't stop bugging me until I wrote about him.

5. What all education have you had? I did the normal high school and I went 4 and a half years at a college to study writing. I didn't graduate college, though. Mom started getting sick, jobs were scarce, and my college debt ballooned so I did what any responsible 20 -something would do and took the full-time management job that was offered to me so I could work off my debt. Maybe one day I'll go back but it will probably just be for a class or two. I just don't feel like devoting another 20 years of my life to pay off a huge debt like that unless it's something I can leave to my children when I leave this world.

6. What is your favorite book of all time? I have two, "The Hobbit" and "A Wrinkle in Time".

7. What are your hobbies? Cooking, crocheting, yoga, and gaming.

8. Have you ever had writers block? If so, what do you do for it? If not, what would you do for it, if you ever get it? Yes, I have. The block happened after I lost my Grandmother and Mother within 6 months of each other. Mom's two-year anniversary was just yesterday, Dec 12. It was difficult to finish Forever Bound because I felt like I'd experience the loss of losing them all over again once it became published. Writer's block is a personal thing and I know some writers tell other writers to push through it because they view writing as a job. And to an extent they are right, but if writing is like breathing, the block becomes more personal, almost as if writing is life itself. In these cases, I embrace my life moment by moment and allow myself to "breathe" by smelling flowers in the spring, watching my children play with the dogs, cooking, or sometimes writing that sentence that popped into my head. I feel it's okay to have a block because life has its ups and downs and embracing your lows like you do your highs makes you a better person and a better writer.

9. Did you ever see yourself becoming a writer when you grew up? No! In fact, I was nine when I got my first "published gig". The local paper published two of my poems and my Grandma and Mom made me go to the store and buy up EVERY SINGLE paper they had. I thought it was cool to see my name in print but I never thought it would ever amount to anything more than just that one time.
