The Wisconsin Samurai By: Scott McElhaney

The Wisconsin Samurai

By: Scott McElhaney

I was on Amazon, and this book popped up. Automatically I knew that the title has another meaning, I mean really? Not to mention, I know the Author. Literally.

So, here I am on page one, reading. Thinking the book must’ve loaded wrong, because it seemed to start off in the middle of everything, so I flip backwards, taking me back to the cover. Nope, there I am back to cutting the cheese. Which means, I can continue.

I end up laughing so hard throughout this book that tears came to my eyes. I just couldn’t stop. The neighbors were looking at me on my porch like I had a problem. I mean, I wasn’t on the phone, and here I was alone. The looks I was getting. Yep, she’s lost her mind.

No, this book is so comical that even if you are in bad mood, I promise you, trying to resist laughing: you’ll fail. I in fact promise you, that you will fail.

Allow me to demonstrate: Rip Ricotta is attending High School, where their Mascot is the Bleu Devils. And Rips has a best friend, and his name is Colby. And as you already know, the story takes place in Wisconsin.

There are cheese factories there, I mean of course. We all know that Wisconsin is the cheese capitol is the World, right?

Well, there is this one guy who is dating the hottest girl at the high school, and her name is Brie. The guy dating her is Jack Monterey. They get into a squabble at the football game, and this is the first incident where Rip realizes her has a talent, if you will.

Rip didn’t like the fact that Jack had the audacity to push Brie and knock her down. As she was getting back to her feet, Rip could tell, that Jack was going to attempt to hit her. That’s when it happened. The slow-motion action to save the girl, and the day kicked into action. And the thoughts of ‘What was I thinking?’ At the same time.

Well low and behold there were nachos and cheese involved. Luckily for those involved though, they were the round nachos. Otherwise, I think there could’ve been more damage then what happened. This is where the Samurai actions proved to impact the cheese and proved to cause various explosions in cutting the cheese.

Then compliments of this factor, we end up learning the whole story line is involved in a mystery type thriller with a twist and turn that will blow your socks away. Because all through as I read, I was ready to frame Silent But Dedli then comes in the Asiago Axer. She is a Samurai, but she is woman, and a quite sexy one too. But whoever is she? And whose side is she really on? I am getting more and more confused. And then Rip gets tied up. And guess who he wakes up with!

There is a ‘Lifetime Acheezment Award, whereas Misty Colon and SB Dedli have been in competition for every year! Which is part of the plot twist in this book!

And there is also the ‘National Cheese Cutters Association’ NCA which I know my husband and brothers are both proud members of. Not to mention, the ‘Texas CheeseSaw Massacre.’

After you read this book: maybe you too should join Rip and Rose for some boiled cabbage and eggs! Let that ferment on your mind for a minute….

This book is everything I could’ve ever wanted in a book, it made me smile and laugh so many times, I literally ended up forgetting what I was doing! Need a distraction from life? Read this! It is a five-star read that will make you will tell your friends about for days! And every time you fart, you’ll think about it again! This is a genuine comedy if I have ever read one!

My Interview questions for Scott:
1.     How long did this book take you to write? Less then a week, it was rather quick and easy to write. I just compiled myself and my wit into and book about cutting the cheese and here it is!

2.    What is your favorite thing about this book? The fact that the character of Rip does his moves in slow motion. I mean, who does that? I can just picture it. I just think it unique and funny. And I like that about him.

3.    Did this book make you laugh? Very much so, even as I reread it.

4.    Is your family embarrassed when you talk about farts and make jokes about them? No, they know that’s just me.

Example facebook post from Scott, and I ask if this was legit and he said yes!

5.    Did you plan on being a writer when you were a kid? Yes, ever since I was like in sixth or seventh grade. I just started putting my toys and characters and their actions and thoughts down on paper, and it would just form into books.

6.    Was the Wisconsin Samurai fun to write? Very much so. I even bought a few paperbacks to take with me to work to share them. I want people to read them, to make them laugh.

7.    About how many books have you published this far? I believe around thirty-five, and still going.

8.    What is your favorite book of your own? I’d have to say Mommies Choice, and the Mystic Saga. Mommies Choice was very hard to write toward the end. The last few chapters were very touching. I could only do a chapter at a time.

9.    What are you working on now? The Maxima Files. Every time I think I’m done, I have more to write. It’s a story about a twelve-year-old girl that’s a super hero. You should check it out. They need read in order. It’s really fun and exciting to write too.

10.  Please share with us your book and social media links:
